The hosting service may process technical request data to operate the site. This page describes the application’s behaviour; it is not a statement about all hosting-provider processing.

Research data

Private listing records, contact details, and internal research notes are not included in the public website. Published outputs will be aggregated and reviewed for source permissions and disclosure risks.

Contact inquiries

When you submit the contact form, we store your name, email, optional organization, message, inquiry type, and any linked Lab article or selected speaking topic. If you choose to answer, we also store how you first heard about us, the AI assistant you name, and what helped you decide to contact us. Matt and authorized New Purveyors staff use these details to respond and understand how people find us. These are your own answers, not tracked referral or browsing data. You can leave them blank. Contact inquiries are separate from anonymous survey responses and are not published or added to a marketing list. Inquiry records expire after 12 months and are removed when the inquiry service next runs, before records are accessed. We use Resend to send inquiry notifications to Matt, including the contact details, message and optional discovery answers you provide. Private measurement reports count the selected source and AI-assistant categories; they do not include your written explanation or contact details. Your email is used as the reply address so Matt can respond directly. For access or deletion requests, email matt@mattrichling.com.

Anonymous activity counts

We count public page views and clicks to Matt’s profile and contact form to understand which research is useful. Activity is stored as daily totals by published page, linked article and action for 90 days; expired totals are removed when measurement next runs. These totals contain no visitor identifiers, IP addresses, referrers, names, emails or messages. We use no analytics cookies or browser storage. Our activity collector respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

A published article path may be carried in links to Matt’s profile, speaking page and contact form. If you submit an inquiry, that article is included with your message and used for private inquiry totals. It does not identify your wider browsing history. Activity counts are separate from contact details, and missing activity does not mean a page had no readers.

AI-use survey

New Purveyors Lab stores submitted answers, submission time, questionnaire and consent versions, broad recruitment source, random receipt and browser identifiers, quality flags and researcher review decisions. We do not store IP addresses in survey records or ask for a name, licence number, brokerage or email. The hosting service may process request logs separately.

A random browser identifier and a private submission receipt are kept on your device to discourage duplicates and help you withdraw a response. This is not identity verification. Responses expire after 12 months; expired records are deleted when the survey service next runs, before response access or collection. Researchers can export responses privately; exported copies follow the same retention period. No partial answers are sent.

Individual answers and free-text comments are not published. We plan to release reviewed aggregates with small-group suppression. To withdraw a retained response, use your receipt in the survey withdrawal form. Published aggregates cannot be individually withdrawn. For privacy questions, contact New Purveyors.
